Minor B Division Only

 
Games
 
 

1. (A) Machine pitches six (6) innings per game from April 24 to May 15

(B) Player(s) pitch(es) first inning and machine pitches the final five (5) innings from May 16 to May 30

(C) Player(s) pitch(es) first two (2) innings and machine pitches the final four (4) innings from May 31 to June13

2. Six innings or two-hour time limit (umpire is sole decider of the exact time the game starts)

3. Four (4) runs maximum per inning

4. No “mercy” rule

Field

1. There will be a five-foot radius circle around the machine

2. Power cords MUST be covered with a mat
3. Positioning of the machine is to be set at the beginning of the game and not changed thereafter, unless deemed necessary by the umpire
4. One umpire should be used and paid $20 per game
5. Home team is responsible for finding a neutral party to umpire in the case of an official umpire not showing up
 
Machine Pitch Rules
 
1. Machine should be set to the #4 setting
2. Five (5) hittable pitches or three (3) swinging strikes
3. If fifth (5th) hittable pitch is fouled off, it will be ruled a “no-pitch”
4. No walks
5. No stealing home (no exceptions)
6. No bunting
7. If batted ball hits machine or lands in the machine circle, ruled “dead ball,” no pitch (not a strike)
8. If thrown ball hits machine or lands in machine circle, ruled “dead ball,” runners advance one base
9. The pitcher position player must start even with the rubber to the left or right with one foot touching the circle
10. There is no infield fly rule
 
11. Runners may not advance on a return throw from the catcher to the pitcher
12. A hit batter is a no-pitch
13. In case of rain or machine malfunction
a. Umpires have sole discretion as to safety issues concerning machine use due to rain or machine malfunction
b. If the machine cannot be used at the start of the game, a four (4)-inning game should be played, if possible, with players pitching the entire game
c. If the machine has started the game but, due to rain or machine malfunction, the machine cannot complete its four (4) innings, then players shall finish the game by pitching no more than four (4) innings (under no circumstance should the game last more than six (6) total innings
 
 
 
Rule Exceptions
 
 
1. Regular baseball rules apply with the following exceptions:
a. No stealing home
b. No infield fly rule
c. If a batted ball hits the carpet, it is a dead ball.
 
 
 
Pitching Rules

1. Minor B pitchers may pitch one-inning or by the Little League rulebook pitch count rules, whichever comes first

2. No league-age 10-year-olds (or older) may pitch in the Minor B Division.
